Kim Clijsters

Sadly retired since May 2007 at the age of 23, Kim brought determination, excitement and skill to the game. She reached the number one spot in the rankings for the first time in 2003, losing it three months later to Henin. She won the US Open in 2005, in her fourth grand slam final.

I'd been occasionally saving images of her playing tennis since January 2002. It slowly dawned on me that her stance when hitting a forehand was consistent, and as typical of Kim as her doing the splits on court. After I realised that I had more than a few matching images, I kept a casual eye open for similar ones. Here are the best of them:
